We had a long interview with Elysha, which has revealed a lot of amazing facts about her, as well as gave a very strong impression on her... Here is the interview:
W&HM: First, let all our readers know you know. We found it very special!
Elysha: My name is Elysha Lee. It's "E"-l-y-s-h-a. It's pronouced "EE"-lysha. It's not "Eh"-lysha
W&HM: Wow, that's very cool! Tell us where you are coming from?
Elysha: I am coming from Northern California, where we all say "Hella" :-) "Hella"... Actually that's on my cards, because I say it a lot. :-D
W&HM: Haha, that's amazing. Uh, what brought you down to LA?
Elysha: I am down here for Formula Drift, first round in Long Beach. I work with Nexen Tires right now. I am having a blast! I get to tour all around the country!
W&HM: You are traveling the country with them?
Elysha: Ya, i am traveling with "Taylor". Not quite with Nexen... Haha. But we make all the arrangements ourselves to show our commitment. We are having fun! You know, we are 21 yos so just go out and have fun!
W&HM: Yes, that's the best time to do it. Not 20 nor 40. Just right!! Very cool!
W&HM: Earlier prior to our interview, you mentioned that you are into cars. Could you tell us more about it?
Elysha: Oh ya! Oh my goodness... My car obsession is not just in cars. I am obsessed with my cars. I have a 91' 240SX Coupe, Her name is Norma Jeane. Yes, she has a name... :-) She is my baby. I put a motor in it, did a 5-speed conversion from automatic all by myself...
W&HM: Wowww, all by yourself, it's like nobody's helping you on the work.
Elysha: Well, somebody pointed and told me what to do, but no actual help. I did the whole conversion operation by myself. All by myself...
W&HM: Wow + wow + wow!!! That's just super amazing!!! Just for curiosity, how long did it take?
Elysha: Well, it took me a little bit longer than I expected... It's roughly about 2 months to do the entire thing. Well that's working on it here and there, going on vacation, going out to party,... Haha
W&HM: That's very cool!! How was the experience?
Elysha: It was probably the best experience in my life. It was absolutely liberating. When it comes to it now, I am self-sufficient now. I have done the big thing, so I can do anything now. I help my friends with their cars. :-) I am kind of a guy's girl. I don't have a lot of female friends. It's nice to be able to hang out with the guys and really HANG with the guys... I can teach THEM rather than they teach me... Haha.
W&HM: That's very cool!! When people ask you about cars, they may just think that you are a beautiful model but when you start talking, it would be like WOW!!
Elysha: And that's my goal, I don't want anybody walk by me just to think I am pretty face. There's a lot more and I would love to show everybody everything that I know.
W&HM: That's so interesting... What was the most difficult part through out this conversion experience?
Elysha: It's breaking the bolts that were put on by the manufacturer back in 1991 and here I am in 2010 trying to take them off... I had to learn to use leverages and use multiple wrenches and linking them together.
W&HM: That was 20 years old bolts... Wow! No totally different topics... You name your cars, right? And you also have other cars?
Elysha: Ya, I do. I also have a 1985 Toyota Corolla and her name is Leila. And she is my daily driver. After 26 years, it's a really fun car to drive. You can just zip around with her. Put a little exhaust on it, so it sounds cool. Haha. I love it! :-D
W&HM: So when people pull up to your car, and "wow" they would say...
Elysha: And I get pulled all the time. I am in car forums, so I actually got people come up to me at the gas station, and tapped on my shoulder and said "That's Leila outside?" Because they know my car that I post pictures on the internet. When they saw me in person, they just star-struck... Haha.
W&HM: That's sooo interesting!!!!
Elysha: Ya, Leila is my daily driver and my baby, and Norma, to be honest, is my "rider die b**ch". Haha. She tried to die on me, and I put in a new car in her and I am still driving her. Haha.
