Celebrating 62 Years of Automotive Excellence

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show has long been regarded as the premier event in the automotive aftermarket industry in the United States and around the world. As the 62nd edition of this iconic event unfolded in 2025, it once again proved to be an essential gathering for aftermarket auto parts and equipment manufacturers, service vendors, and industry insiders, and enthusiasts alike. This year's show, as a tradition, in the vast Las Vegas Convention Center, was a vibrant showcase of innovation, creativity, and resilience—demonstrating the enduring appeal of the automotive customization world.

This year, by our unscientific estimate, there is a slight dip in attendance compared to previous years. Industry insiders note that this change, reflects ongoing global economic challenges and the unpredictable impacts of recent tariffs and trade policies. These tariffs have notably affected companies within the industry, causing some to scale back their participation or alter their exhibition plans. Consequently, some vendors were absent from the show, and even were some exhibition vehicles.

Despite the economic uncertainty and subtle shifts in the show's scale, the SEMA Show continues to be an indispensable industry flagship event. Featuring estimated over 2,200 exhibitors, the event remains the premier destination for networking, product discovery, and specialized education sessions.

A Shifting Global Presence

A notable shift this year, especially in the South Hall, was the prominent presence of Asian manufacturers, especially from Chinese companies. Many of these vendors moved their booths closer to the front prime real estate, taking over the previous years' occupying named companies such as Falken, Pirelli, Cooper and others, signifying the evolving change of the aftermarket landscape.

However, the sheer presence of these international companies also revealed a familiar pattern: many of them are still catalog booth style. These streamlined displays focus primarily on product samples, brochures, and connecting with buyers rather than elaborate vehicle builds or promotional activities, indicating a focus on hard direct business and manufacturing connections over consumer-facing spectacle and entertainment lifestyle invocation.

A Celebration of Automotive Innovation and Diversity

The SEMA Show remains one of the most exciting and influential events in the automotive industry, and the 2025 edition proved to be no exception. As always, the show provided a dynamic platform for enthusiasts, professionals, and innovators to gather, exchange ideas, and learn about the latest trends and technologies shaping the future of automobiles. With its vibrant atmosphere and ever-evolving lineup of exhibits and demonstrations, SEMA continues to be a hub for both education and inspiration for everyone passionate about cars.

One of the exciting changes in 2025 was the noticeable increase in participation from the younger generation. This influx of young enthusiasts, emerging entrepreneurs, and future industry leaders is highly encouraging for the future of the automotive world. Many of these new faces are passionate about customizing, restoring, and innovating cars, bringing fresh perspectives and energy to the show floor.

Equally inspiring was the significant increase in female participation. The show floor saw more women in the show as some of them describe themselves as "girls in the industry," which is a wonderful sign. This self-identified collective represents a growing, influential force across all facets of the aftermarket, from engineering and manufacturing to media and custom building. Their increased visibility and involvement are actively challenging traditional stereotypes and making the industry more inclusive.

Show Floor Dynamics

The 2025 SEMA Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center promises to be an exciting and evolving event, highlighting both the ongoing growth of the automotive aftermarket industry, coinciding with the show’s under-construction venue. With various traffic routes undergoing reconfiguration and expansion, attendees can expect a more streamlined experience that helps navigating this gigantic show venue.

The South Hall, traditionally a hub for tire and wheel vendors, has undergone a noticeable change. This year, it hosts far more tire companies than in previous years we can recall, transforming into a major focal point for attendees seeking the latest in tire technology, performance upgrades, and aftermarket solutions.

Meanwhile, the Central Hall remained a core part of the show, housing many of the traditional performance and hot rod exhibitors. However, this section was not immune to change, with evidence of vendors moving up or moving out of the venue entirely, contributing to the overall sense of transition noted across the show floor this year. Despite these shifts, Central Hall remains a vital part of the show, offering a balanced mix of established brands and emerging players shaping the future of automotive customization, performance, and accessories.

In contrast to the focused business of the Central and South Halls, the North Hall, home to many audio equipment vendors, was characterized by loud music blasting to the entire hall, which was a bit too loud to many attendees trying to conduct business and hold conversations. While audio systems are a core part of the aftermarket, the excessive volume created a challenging environment for navigation and networking.

The West Hall saw its identity further defined, with the detailing and vehicle care sector experiencing significant growth. This area expanded the detailing territory with a reduced overland footprint, a subtle but telling sign that professional cleaning, ceramic coating, and protective films are becoming a more prominent component of the aftermarket show experience, potentially at the expense of the previously booming off-road and overland segment.

The Las Vegas Convention Center is being partially remodeled for a new config. The ongoing construction and adaptation of the venue hint at a future SEMA Show experience that will likely leverage the new facilities and layout, promising a better flow for attendees in the years to come.

Show Promotional Models: A Year of Change and New Faces

This year's event brought noticeable changes in the promotional modeling scene. Attendees and media peers observed that the number of promo models present was lower than last year's, bucking the increasing trend since post-Covid revival. Many of the familiar faces and popular models who had previously been a staple at the show were noticeably absent, marking a shift in the promotional landscape of the event.

Despite the decrease in overall promotional models, the show had some standout figures who drew considerable attention. Our cover models, Zari and Constance, garnered a lot of buzz from attendees. Their popularity is well-earned, and they brought a fresh energy to the event floor.

Both of the cover models have cultivated strong followings, and their presence helped to elevate the vibe of the show despite the reduced number of promo models overall. The success of these models underscores an interesting dynamic in the industry: quality and star power remain impactful, even as quantity decreases.

One of the most interesting observations was how promo models still managed to bring in significant traffic—something that many international and newcomer companies may not have fully realized. Despite the lower numbers, the models who were present created a lively atmosphere around their booths, attracting a steady stream of visitors. This highlights an important point: these professionals serve not just as visual draws, but as crucial, high-energy conduits between the product and the curious attendee, translating complex technical information into approachable conversation and, ultimately, drawing crowds to otherwise quiet booths, and generating high-volume leads.

We also like to point out that the spirit of helpfulness within the SEMA community remained strong. Many people were helpful throughout the convention center, illustrating the supportive nature of the aftermarket industry. A standout example came from an information booth, where a helpful booth lady went above and beyond in finding a vendor for a frustrated attendee, turning a potential head-aching experience into a positive one with dedicated, personalized service.

Magnificent Cars

The 2025 SEMA Show was, as always, a spectacular display of automotive artistry and engineering prowess, proving that the heart of the aftermarket industry beats with passion and innovation. Across the convention halls, the standard of presentation was exceptionally high, with vendor show cars remaining spotless and gorgeous, a testament to the pride and attention to detail that defines the industry. More than mere display pieces, the exhibit cars and trucks demonstrated ingenuity in car modifications, pushing the boundaries of performance, design, and customization.

One of the most striking features of this year’s event was the condition and presentation of the vendor show cars. Each vehicle on display was spotless and gorgeous, reflecting the dedication and attention to detail from the builders. These show cars were more than just eye candy—they were masterpieces of ingenuity. Many of them demonstrated extraordinary modifications that showcased the latest trends and technologies in the industry. Whether it was advanced aerodynamics, innovative suspension setups, or unique custom paint jobs, each car told a story of craftsmanship and creativity. These exhibit cars served as a testament to what skilled builders and tuners can achieve when pushing the limits of design and engineering.

Toyo Tires, a longtime staple at SEMA, once again delivered an impressive lineup of show cars that exemplified the brand’s commitment to quality. Constantly bringing the cream of the crop, Toyo’s display featured some of the most jaw-dropping builds at the event. Their vehicles ranged from sleek street machines to aggressive off-road beasts, all fitted with their latest tires. Their display consistently showcases this ultimate level of vehicle customization and performance, setting a benchmark for the rest of the show and serving as an irresistible magnet for photographers and enthusiasts alike.

Ingenuity and Electrifying Entertainment

Beyond the static displays, the energy of the show reached a fever pitch at the outdoor exhibitions. The Burnyard burnout show at the Hoonigan always remained popular, drawing massive, enthusiastic crowds. This spectacle of power and precision delivered on all fronts, with huge smoke and loud noises in full showmanship that captured the raw, visceral excitement of car culture.

Complementing the chaos of the burnouts, the precision driving displays were breathtaking. The drifting actions were next level, exciting the crowd with high-speed, controlled slides that demonstrated incredible vehicle dynamics and driver skill. These demonstrations provided thrilling breaks from the indoor business, connecting the parts and products on display to the raw performance they enable.

Another Fantastic Show in the Book

For anyone looking to understand the future of the automotive specialty-equipment market—from the impact of global trade to emerging manufacturing trends—the 2025 SEMA Show remains a great show to visit and learn. It offers a clear, on-the-ground look at an industry in transition, providing essential insights for manufacturers, buyers, and enthusiasts alike.

We saw a new generation tide and gender democratize the automobile industry from this show. The 2025 SEMA Show was not just a display of horsepower and innovative parts; it was a powerful illustration of an industry broadening its appeal, welcoming diverse talent, and setting the stage for a more inclusive and vibrant future. The traditional passion for cars is clearly evolving, driven by a new, more representative cohort of enthusiasts and professionals.

In its totality, the 2025 SEMA Show reaffirmed its multi-faceted value to the community. Between the high-level educational sessions, the critical networking opportunities, and the spectacular, high-octane live action, the 2025 SEMA Show was a wonderful show for education, network, and excitement. It successfully blended serious business with unparalleled entertainment, securing its position as the must-attend event for the global automotive aftermarket.
