2019 Formula Drift Championship race started at the legendary Irwindale Speedway.  The day is a picture perfect day with warm Fall sun and a gentle breeze  This signals a wonderful start of a great race weekend for sure!

We got a great chance to have a first look of the open practice rounds that would eventually lead up to the qualifying races later the day and the tough decision making championship prizes.

First before the races, we took a look at the awesome cars that will endure the extremity of pulls and brakes and spins and sheer powers.  They have to be tuned to the tip top condition that suits the drivers' styles and road condition and weather forecast.  It's no easy feast and the teams behind them are pure unsung hero here.

Many of the vendor show cars were in display as well at the various spots of the expo area.  One glaring phenomenon is the abundant presence of the brand new highly anticipated Toyota Supra.  This all new design model is done by the BMW team from the inside and out.  I talked to one of the staff members at the Toyota booth, and he said that he did not expect there are so many new Supra on scene.  It's a great sign that this brand new kid on the block carries the great tradition to the legend.

Day 1 of Formula Drift is not quite the model day.  We only managed to find a less than a handful of models present at the show. Nonetheless, many of them are the supermodels in the promo industry, including our cover model Christina Riordan (top photo) for Worthouse, whose driver James Deane who won the last two years' championship, on par with very few other drivers who have such accolades.  And there are Leanna Decker and Courtney Riggs for Nitto Tire, as well as Hannah a new face in the scene.

The actions on the practice run sometimes felt like the real runs that sometimes go really intense.  Not only the smokes were thick, the booms were loud, and the speed was really high, the fuel-fume atmosphere in the air was pure adrenaline catalyst to the excitements in the crowd.  We just cannot peel away from this grand sight of drifting.

We totally look forward to the great day of the 2019 Formula Drift championship race as well as many more promotional personalities on Saturday!
