Kristy-Lei Juan - Our Cover Model and Free Spirited Traveler @kristyleijuan

Kristy-Lei Juan

This towering 5'3" model is packed with lots of energy, passion, and free spirit!  Kristy-Lei Juan has that Hawaiian etho in her and all things tropical too!  Her beautiful tan color skin tone, and athletic build that can tackle any beaches or mountains, as well as open-airiness in her aura, are all the traces of her root culture in Hawaii.

We noticed her starting early in the 2012 events across Southern California.  She has that quiet storm yet passion for life attitude, definitely caught our attention and our camera flashes.  Not just settled for the live promotional work, she has great talents that extend to the print publications as well.  Many print and web magazines have featured her in their highlights.  She is the great next-generation model who knows how important it is to connect with her fans, her network, and the world!

We definitely will see her a lot more in the future and we very much look forward to it!

Cover Model Pictorial: W&HM 2012 October, photo and text by Py

To see complete coverage:

Pasadena, CA (W&HM) - We are very excited to introduce our 2012 October Model, Kristy-Lei Juan.  We first saw her at a show, and thought that she is really special in certain way.  Throughout the various shows, we found that she is really cool to take pictures with, because she is so talented, engaging, easy to work with, and most of all, the photos are totally awesome!!  If you have not seen much of her pictures in our past coverage, definitely check them out at our search here [int link].

Now, let's jump right into the interview so that we can learn more about this fantastic model!

W&HM: Hello Kristy, it's great to have you in our feature shoot today!  You look awesome!  First, please let our readers know more about yourself and modeling.

Kristy: I am originally from Honolulu Hawaii and now live in Los Angeles.  I started modeling seriously about a year ago.  It's been a lot of fun.  I actually met a lot of great people and have such wonderful experiences that I would not trade for anything in the world.  For the most part, it's been very exciting.  I've traveled a
lot too. Haha

W&HM: That's wonderful!  In the whole world that you have been traveled so far, which place is your favorite?

Kristy: Well, I am from Hawaii, so I am going to be a little biased. I love Hawaii!  That's the most beautiful place. That's my favorite. :-D

Pasadena, CA (W&HM) - (continued from part 1)

W&HM: Now you are in Los Angeles, what would be the thing that you miss most about Hawaii most?

Kristy: The beach!  Hands down the beach!

W&HM: Haha!  Then what kind of Hawaiian foods do you like most?

Kristy: I like Loco Moco, but the most is Poke!  That's my favorite!  It's like raw fish, like Ahi or Tuna, in chunks, like little cubes, marinated in awesome and goody sauce.  Usually it's soy sauce based, with green onions or seaweeds, stuffs like that.  Yea, it's just raw fish, seasoned and marinated.  I like to eat it with rice...  I am getting hungry now... Haha

W&HM: Haha, it's dinner time now...  Well a different subject.  How do you like modeling?

Kristy: Modeling is fun!  You get to do things like this (referring to the beautiful beach that we were at) and create awesome images, like telling a story.  I like story telling pictures.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  I totally agree.

W&HM: That's awesome!  Well, if you can tell one thing to new models, as an advice, what would it be?

Kristy: I would say for anyone that wants to start in this industry is to stay true to yourself.  You know, just be yourself and don't be what the industry wants you to be.  If you want to rock pink hair, then rock pink hair.  If you want to have tattoos, don't be embarrassed about it.  There is a whole market out there just for that.  Just rock it.  Stay true to yourself.

W&HM: Wow, that's very cool!
Kristy: Also, networking is the most important thing in this industry.  You know, like to meet people, and be nice to EVERYBODY (Wagging her finger to emphasize on this point), because you never ever know whom you are talking to!

W&HM: That's so true.  That is so awesome!  That's one of the best ones that I've ever heard.  Totally awesome!

Pasadena, CA (W&HM) - (continued from part 2)

W&HM: Okay, a totally different question again.  What's your favorite color?

Kristy: My favorite color is, like, neutral colors, beige, tan, like earth tone colors.  But I still like some pop colors.  Basically, if you think about a beach, I like earth tone and then pops with a bright turquoise color, but not too much, just an accent color.

W&HM: That's cool.  What color do you like to wear then?

Kristy: Hmm, I like to wear white, but every time I wear white, I always managed to eat something with sauce... without fail.. Haha. You see, this is a watermelon stain on my bikini (pointing to the top of her white pokadot bikini top).  Haha.

W&HM: Well, I guess there is a design purpose of the ruffle on that bikini (referring to the pokadot ruffle trim on the bikini top.)  Okay, last three questions...  The first is, if you write a fortune cookie for yourself, what would it be?

Kristy: If I write it myself, I will probably put a pick up line on it.  Haha.  Hey have you heard about fortune cookies that are "mis"-fortune cookies that tell you mean things?  Haha.  Well, the pick up theme is because one day I got a fortune cookie that has a pick up line on there.  It says" Are your legs tired?  Because you have been running through someone's mind all day."  Haha

Pasadena, CA (W&HM) - (continued from part 3)

W&HM: Haha, that's a great one!  Very funny!  Now a different question, if you have all the money in the world, what kind of car would you get?
Kristy: Hmm, I will probably get a Nissan S15.  Just to drive it around.  Haha

W&HM: Wow, what color would it be?
Kristy: White... White...

W&HM: Just don't eat watermelon around it... Haha
Kristy: Maybe I will drip some watermelon juice on it... Haha

W&HM: Okay, last question.  What would you like to say to your fans out there?
Kristy: Thank you!  From the bottom of my heart, thank you!!  I don't feel like that I have done anything very different, but I am glad that people enjoy my pictures.  People seem to be very excited about meeting me, but I think I am just a normal person.  I really appreciate people's support, especially to my family, and everyone else.  I don't know, just everyone that's been there for me regardless.  I have a really strong backbone support from my family.

W&HM: Awesome!  Thank you Kristy!  You are totally awesome!  We look forward to working with you again in the future!! :-)
Kristy: Thank you!! :-D
